“It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name He may give you. This I command you: Love one another.”
— John 15:16-17
In Sacred Scripture we are continually reminded that every baptized person can serve the community in a special way: “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10). This concept, which was true in Ephesus and Rome centuries ago, is still true today in our parish. Your service in parish programs is important to our “community dynamic.” Even your presence at social events can be a “service” to others.
There are so many ministries and programs at St. James Cathedral, ranging from Adult Choir to That Man Is You. There is a parish ministry or group where your talents will make a difference!
Bless God with your participation, as God has blessed you.
